I absolutely agree. Lolita is such a broad and diverse fashion, I think everyone can find their own niche within it.

Hello,

ran into the blog as I was looking up stuff about InnoSera and found your interview with Rilly. So yes, hello to another Lolita that is my age! We are indeed out there, but I really really did get nervous as I just got into this fashion seriously (actually buying and majorly sewing) last spring and then went to a meet and realized I got stares for being 29 years old haha. But yes, I’m ok on the comfort level now. I just found that I needed to get my personal niche in this fashion and what I’m comfy with, going from western gothic to gothic and classic lolita was a pretty happy transistion. Now to just find things more suited to my 5′9″ height. So yes, I suppose that’s the thing for all of us, just to find the niche of what style we feel as comfy as ourselves no matter what age.

I’m still debating how I feel about evolving my wardrobe. I LOVE sweet lolita,… but yeah.

Personally, I feel so lucky that you are the age that you are, and that our friendship does not only consist of dressing up, eating cupcakes and fighting over which Jonas Brother is considered the “hottest”.

Your own form of lolita is so refreshing to me, because I’ve never seen anyone else wear the clothes that have like you do, and it’s beautiful. Your personal style is so original, and I actually think that your creativity helps keep me interested in lolita. You introduced me into a world of lolita that isn’t exclusively BtSSB and have taught me how I can incorporate things into my outfits that I normally would have overlooked years ago.

I’m only 19, but I feel about a million years old when I see what these girls talk about nowadays. I didn’t even know who the Jonas Brothers were until a few months ago!

I feel the same way. I’m leaning towards Jane Marple and less-frilly ETC these days (I just wish these brands had webstores x.x). I’m not too old, but I feel like I’ve outgrown the really OTT stuff.

I definitely feel the age gap sometimes just like you. When girls on egl start talking about Jonas Brothers or Tokio Hotel I just blank and completely skip that conversatin.

I guess maybe it’s also because I’ve been modding at LF.org, but I feel like there’s this mass influx of young teenagers, not just at that particular meet. I’d really like to get back out to Vancouver sometime and meet some of these older lolitas of whom you speak. You are the only lolita I’ve ever met who was older than me!

Hey! For fifteen long moments you were not the oldest lolita there! I was Ten when you were six. Based on the last meet-ups ages I think you’re smack dab in the middle. Everyone is either in their teens or approaching thirty. It’s an interesting dynamic.
